Desmond Martin Jackson died on 30th December 2009 aged 87.
He left behind his wife Margaret, an extended family and many friends.
In the church community he had been part of for more than 12 years he was known first and foremost as an encourager. It was clear that Des loved life. He loved Margaret, he loved his family and the many friends he had gathered from various settings and episodes of life. More than anything else though, he loved Jesus. This kind hearted and generous man spent the closing years of his life serving others.
The Commital was a small gathering of family and friends at the Worth crematorium in West Sussex on an overcast wintery day, it took place on Friday 22nd of January.
The Thanksgiving Service took place on Saturday the 30th of January at St Bede's School in Redhill and was primarily attended by members of the church. The recording misses the Welcome and brief introduction as well as two of the songs that did not record well. The total recording lasts for approximately 45 minutes and the rememberances of friends appear at about the 20 minute mark.
