There is never a good time of year for an evil crime to happen ... but the recent tragedy in the Elementary school in Sandy Hook, Conneticut is perhaps more obviously meaningless and distressing than many.  And that it happened during the lead up to Christmas makes it seem somehow worse. Why do bad things happen to good people?  How can you make any sense of this?

The Story so far

Almost exactly a year ago we took up on offering over 3 successive Sunday's to see whether we could afford to purchase the old Kandootoo shop (and the rest of the building) at 3 London Road.  Amazingly we received enough then to make an offer, and by the time we had collected everything in, including redeemed pledges and Gift Aid, last year we raised about £429,000!
