Various updates and news items that are important to us as a family, either because they have some sort of practical implication, or just because it is good stuff that makes us happy and want to celebrate!
  • Morning Talks

We highly value the Bible and have found it is full of wisdom and truth that is applicable in every age ... it still holds true and works very well in the 21st century!

In our morning meetings our preaching will be typically about 30 minutes, though occasionally it will be longer.

In our evening meetings there is often a more interactive element going on, with more of an opportunity to question the preacher about what has been said.

It is usually better to hear this 'live', but if you cannot manage to be with us in the morning (or evening), then listening to it is the next best thing!

For our younger families there is a very effective children's work that is intended to help you encourage your children to find out more about God.  At least once a term we have a family service when we are all together for worship and teaching ... these are shorter mornings than usual.

    January - March 2012

Over the next 3 months we are preaching our way through Paul's letter to the Philippians.  The talks will be uploaded for listening to as normal (see below), but we have also produced a booklet to accompany this 11 week series, which can be found here.

An important part of this teaching series is the preparation work that will be done in cell groups in the week leading up to the Sunday talk.  This preparation work will involve doing a 'manuscript study' of the passage which forms the basis for the teaching the following Sunday.  Eg Philippians 1:12-18 which is the passage for Sunday 22 January, will be studied in cell groups on Wednesday 18 January.  The booklet includes the passages which will be studied week by week (pages 15 - 34) , as well as a brief guide to 'manuscript study' (page 36).

This means that we will be able to listen to the talk on Sunday having already become familiar with the passage beforehand.

If you can't get to your cell group for any particular reason, don't let that stop you from doing a manuscript study on your own !

And if you don't belong to a cell group - this might be a good time to find one !

  • Worship Songs
Sometimes the recordings of our worship groups are well worth making available like this - here are some examples of various singers and musicians.  All songs are taken as live recordings from our normal meetings.
  • Food for Thought

It's a fascinating and complex universe we live in.

Everything from incredible beauty and simplicity through to almost unbelievable complexity is on display.  The human race is a completely mixed bag capable of breathtaking sacrifice, incredible love and unspeakable evil. So, what are we to make of it?

The Christian view of this world not only provides a coherent understanding that makes sense of the apparent chaos, but also gives you a firm foundation for a compelling, meaningful and fulfilling life.  Here is some food for thought culled from various sources, see what you think:
